Unfiltered cold pressed olive oil Plomari Platinum is a typical Lesvos olive oil made from olives Kolovi, a unique variety found only on this island.
Olive oil from this olive variety has an amazing combination of softness and astringency.
Kolovi olive trees grow at an altitude of 300 - 500 meters above sea level, surrounded by numerous wild herbs and flowers such as thyme, oregano, rosemary and others.
The proximity to these plants is the reason that when tasting the olive oil, you feel their rich aroma combined with the pungent saturated fruitiness of unripe olives.
Lesvos olive oil Plomari Gold was created by olive oil maker Filippos Giatrelis in collaboration with the Protoulis family.
Olives for the production of this oil are harvested by hand in early October, at the very beginning of their ripening. Within 3-4 hours after harvest, the olives are delivered to the olive press and turn into a thick, greenish-golden aromatic and velvety unfiltered extra virgin early harvest olive oil.
Like all early harvest olive oils, Plomari Platinum has a high polyphenol content, over 500 mg / kg.
Therefore, after taking a sip of this unfiltered olive juice, be ready to feel a good pepper kick in the back of your throat.
Plomari Platinum goes well with all kinds of vegetables and soft white cheeses. Try it also with lemon salad dressing or simply with the crispy crust of rustic homemade bread.
