Vinification:
Maceration 10-12 days in contact with skins and seeds in a stainless steel container. Gentle compression with a pneumatic press. Wine is fermented with the natural grapes yeast. Maturing in oak barrels for 2 years and 6 months in bottles.
Ageing potential: 2020 - 2025.
Characteristics:
Modra Frankinja is the most famous red wine of Posavje, which is known for its elegance, but at the same time shows a strong character thanks to its phenolic structure.
The wine has a soft purple-ruby color. Distinct fruitiness is reflected in both smell and taste. A young and lively fruity aroma with distinct notes of pepper, red currant and dried herbs. In the mouth, the wine is dry, medium-bodied, with spicy notes and a good balance of tannins and acids.
Food pairings:
The wine can be enjoyed on its own or accompanied by various dishes based on red meat, venison, dried meat products, selected cheeses and other Posavje delicacies. Serving temperature: 15-17 °C.
